NSIS error while installing Sony Ericsson's “update service” software in windows vista
Hi, I have Sony Ericsson txt pro mobile and I downloaded the “media go” software along with the “update service” software. I have laptop with the windows vista basic and I have installed the media go successfully but having NSIS error while installing the update service. Why is that? I also tried other setup which was working on another laptop having windows vista home premium buy still getting the same problem. Is there anything wrong with my windows?

This may be because of the firewall you have installed on your computer. Try disabling the firewall and installing the setup, because sometimes firewall stops the installation of the software if found corrupted or if it is not from genuine source. Another way is to install from the safe mode, but if the copy of software is faulty then it won’t be able to help you! As you have two different operating systems mentioned here, your copy of software may be having some issue with its version itself. Try installing latest version of update service!

I don’t have firewall installed on my pc so there is no issue with the firewall! As I have said the second copy was working on another laptop, so it can’t be faulty or corrupted. i have two setups at home 2.11.10.7 and 2.11.9.6 and both are not working on my pc!

Clear all your browsing history and cache memory then try downloading the file. This type of error comes when the file is altered from its own form or it is not downloaded properly. This type of error is shown if the software you are trying to install, have some defect in it and will affect you in the future. you also mentioned that you were having the problem with file that was working on another pc, problem might have caused while copying the file from source, try copying the file again .May be your media through which you transferred the file is corrupted. Try following:

1. Go to run command from start menu type chkdsk to check any error in your hard disk. This will show you errors that are causing you this error.
2. If you have any downloader, then disable them and download a file normally with your browser.
3. Check the file extension, you might have not saved the file with proper extension.

All the above said methods should solve your problem. If you are still having any problem then this should be your last step. You should perform this on your own risk. With this step you can make your corrupt file work:

1. Go to start menu.
2. Now open RUN command prompt and type cmd.
3. Insert the installer into the black screen of cmd prompt.
4. Give one space and type /NCRC
5. This will start the installer.
