Converting lossless .wma to .flac in Linux Mint 9
I had some lossless .wma files that I had a desire to change over to .flac, but Sound Converter was giving me issues and can't finish the task so need help from you experts about the same. I did research on many forums but it did not help.

* Step 1: In Terminal drop in the command
* sudo apt-get install mpg321 vorbis-tools
* Step 2: Then in synaptic recognize and install "nautilus-script-manager" and "nautilus-script-audio-convert"
* Step 3: In Terminal drop in the order
* nautilus-script-manager enable ConvertAudioFile
* Step 4: Now right click on the wma sound document in Nautilus and you will see a "Scripts" alternative with a "ConvertAudioFile" alternative. Utilize this to change over the wma to wav.
* Step 5: Now utilize the system Sound Converter to change over the wav to flac.

This was the most effortless strategy I would be able to spot, and worked positively well. I'm positive there are different systems to perform the same job too, and if you've got one post it like a pro. The more data we could probably share to one another the preferred.

This is quite functional for lossless tracks that someone may have torn in Windows Media Player, and now no longer has the initial CD's. That was precisely my scenario. I had ripped some of my CD's as .wma lossless numerous years in the past. Several of those CD's alternate on top of an old sweetheart. Utilizing this technique permitted me to support the music in poignant lossless value, but dump the Microsoft restrictive format.
